I was going to say Ghost In The Shell: Standalone Complex, but perhaps that could be considered cheating as they got the dub cast from the film which was released in the 90's for consistency with the added bonus of all of them being fantastic voice actors. I thoroughly enjoyed the dub of Aura Battler Dunbine which came out a few years ago. This is partially due to nostalgia as Carl Macek was in charge of that dub and employed quite a lot of veteran voice actors such as Jay Hickman yet also some of the newer voice actors who have had a good reception with anime fans, such as Vic Mignogna. Having said that, I have not purchased an incredibly large amount of recent anime dubs due to the fact that I am increasingly disinterested in most of the new anime that comes out; and what little new anime I am interested in, usually is not available in English beyond fansubs (Mostly Seinen stuff). Good question, Miguel!

The main objection against Manga dubs would have been their tendency to sprinkle swearwords throughout their dubs in order to make the look look "grittier" or more adult. Cyber City Oedo 808 in my opinion is a great example of the quintessential Manga UK dub: Fantastically acted (many of the voice actors present in the dub are quite successful actors in their own right) but a swear level count that would make Eminem blush. Streamline video also deserves credit; I think most of their dubs are fantastic. Animaze has also done a consistently fantastic job, their early release of Macross Plus being the best English dub of all time in my opinion. When voice actor Lee Stone, aka. Bryan Cranston became famous due to Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad, we lost one heck of a voice actor. If anything, I think Anime dubbing has never reached the brilliant level that it was in the early days. I would say that there is not the huge contrast of dub quality one might expect in the past, but most modern dubs are merely serviceable. No new dub has managed to captivate me.
